Leonardo bouncing around

family Comments Off on Leonardo bouncing around

This is going to be my first official review for a baby product and I’m really excited about it as I was thrilled to receive an item from one of the most trusted companies on the market.

The Fisher Price Discover and Grow Activity Bouncer could not have come at a better time! Because it suits babies from birth  I was able to use it straight away with Leonardo. It literally makes my baby content and allows him to relax and spend some time bouncing around in a comfortable colourful seat.

We used to have a bouncer when Beatrice was just few months old and I remember I loved it as she enjoyed sitting on it and I was allowed some “free time” to clean around while I was sure she was safely sitting there.

That’s  why I was more than happy to receive one for little Leonardo. He’s only 3 weeks old and he fits perfectly on the Fisher Price bouncer. Most of the time when I place him there, he falls asleep and sleeps without waking up for hours. If i didnt know babies could only spend max of 2 hours on a bouncer, I’m sure he’d be happy to sleep there all day!

The Fisher Price bouncer is very colourful and the seat is well padded so baby is pretty cozy. A practical point is that the material can be removed and put in the washing machine.

The bouncer has the option to put a little vibration effect that Leonardo loves ! It actually makes him fall asleep easier.  What I noticed is that although we keep forgetting the vibration option on, I’m still surprised that the battery hasn’t run out yet and this is a big plus because it allows you to keep it on all the time without worrying to having to buy batteries often.

When I see that Leonardo is sleepy I sit him there and then bounce him to sleep  (most of the time it take no more than 10 minutes!). He truly looks very comfortable as the seat has a particular shape that fits the baby like he’d be in a little nest, he looks so cozy!

The bouncer has the option to fit in 2 different arms with little colourful animals attached.  The music on the bar is motion activated so although at the moment Leonardo is too small to play with,  I’m sure that when he will be a bit older, he will enjoy discovering what to do in order to turn the music on. So far he enjoys the bright colours and spends quite long time looking at the animals on the bar.

From a practical point of view we found the bouncer very easy to assemble as you only need  a screedriver. From a safety point of view the non-slip feet are pretty good to keep the bouncer steady especially on wooden floors.

Overall the Fisher Price bouncer is a really good product and I feel totally safe to leave my baby happily bouncing  next to me while I’m busy doing other stuff and knowing he’s a happy baby while sitting there. This is a product that I would definitely recommend to use from birth because babies at this stage are very demanding and this bouncer would definitely help you to rest your arms! Plus if you see your baby happy and you know he is  in a safe place then happy days for everyone!

Tangled birthday party

What better way to spend your last weeks of pregnancy than organising a Tangled birthday party for your daughter’s 3rd birthday?

To be honest I just loved doing it! I spent ages researching online for party ideas, dessert table inspirations and ways to combine it all and I have to admit I was pretty proud with the result!

This was my daughter’s first official party with her little friends so I really wanted it to be special! She’s in love with Tangled so I thought a Rapunzel party would have been the best theme for her birthday party.

As a little treat we gave each child a personalised cupcake topped with a Rapunzel character

Like any good Italian mama I wasn’t sure how much food was enough food so I prepared different sweets and sour plates.

On the sweet side a part from cupcakes, I made blueberry pannacotta, french macarons, sugar decorated biscuits, chocolate covered cake pops and a big madeira cake filled with strawberry swiss meringue buttercream. On the savoury side I made pizza, tomato, mozzarella and basil appetizer and ham and cheese paninis.

Could not resist and filled few jars and party favours with marshmallows.

… attempted roses cupcakes…

and prayed God this tower would hold the weight of Rapunzel house! (under Maximus supervision)

I’ve always been in love with paper straws so bought them online and printed out some water bottles labels which I found on Catch my party website.

Very pleased with this drink dispenser which was bought from M&S at the last minute (it was out of stock for ages and only 4 days before the party it went back on stock – yeah!)

My husband helped me out to create these cupcake toppers. He honestly has more patience than me in creating little fondant figures.

And that’s my gorgeous daughter waiting for all her girlfriends to arrive at the party.

A part from the figures, the entire cake was edible as it was made using either fondant or buttercream.

And that’s us celebrating all together!

To entertain the girls we bought a cardboard castle which the girls loved! It was big enough for all of them to play inside plus they all had fun colouring and making it unique!

All smiles!

A huge thanks to my mom who spent AGES trying to cut out the fondant letters to make the Happy Birthday sign. The fondant kept sticking to the cutter as it was supposed to be rolled very thin and my mom had hard time to avoid the letters to break, but she did it and I thought it was a nice touch to the cake.

Buon compleanno Amore mio!

Sweet Easter party

Cuisine, Daily photo, family, Food Comments Off on Sweet Easter party

Only two weeks to go for the arrival of the baby and it seems I cannot get enough of baking! So to celebrate Easter day and the arrival of Nonna Nuti and Zia Barbara, I decided to prepare some sweet treats and put together an Easter dessert table.

I’ve been experimenting few new recipes and spent HOURS on Pinterest finding ideas and inspirations and taking that this is my first dessert party table, I think it didn’t turn out too bad. I love pastel colours, cupcakes, cookies and tulips soI tried to create an armony between these which are my favourite things.

I baked some nest cupcakes then decorated them with some chocolate and coconut flakes and used mini chocolate Easter eggs  on a bed of cream cheese frosting.

Then I created some fondant bunnies paws and tails to use as cupcake toppers

I made them in  4 different pastel colours

I baked some vanilla bunny cookies

Some Easter chick cookies

And more cupcakes…

Fell in love with these purple party favours which I filled with bunny tales (mini white marshmallow)

And chocolate mini eggs

And more flower cupcakes

Something to drink

Lovely white tulips

And more Easter eggs

How cute is this cupcakes box?
