Welcome to the world (which was eagerly waiting for you!) George Alexander Louis!
I have to admit… watching the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge coming out of the hospital holding that little precious baby, really made me emotional. Somehow I relived the joy we had when our little Prince Leonardo was born 3 months ago (minus the paparazzi lol). Awww.. that was one of the most precious moments of our lives….
To celebrate the birth of the future King, I managed to find some time to make these simple Royal Baby cupcakes in honour of little Prince George.
The recipe for these vanilla cupcakes is the one I always use from the BBC website.
While Leonardo was napping (yes! He’s napping during the day in his cot bed!) I quickly prepared some blue and red fondant to recreate the Union Flag colours and by using some cookie cutters, I cut out different shapes: a little pram, a milk bottle, a rocking horse and babygrow.
The bit that took me longer was the making of the Union flag as I had to cut out little strings of fondant different in lenght and glue them together with some water. That was quite tricky as I had to be careful not to stain the white bits with red or blue colour and trust me doing this in a rush, praying that the baby doesnt wake up, it’s a challenge.
Obviously while I was preparing these cupcakes Leo woke up! Thankfully as I mentioned in my previous post, he’s getting better and better so he was happy enough to bounce in his chair while mommy finished to prepare the Royal cupcakes.
Union flag.. a big bulky but hey you get the idea lol!
I made the same fondant toppers in baby blue colour.
Wonder what the actual Royal babygrows look like…
Congratulations Mommy Kate and Daddy William!
